This project would not have been possible without enthusiastic participation and support of the dedicated professionals in the New York City Administration for Children’s Services. The participating child protective service caseworkers, supervisors, and managers made it possible for us to learn about how mobile technology impacts their profession.

We are particularly indebted to the leadership and collaborative work of the Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) and NY State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) professionals who worked directly with us on the assessment: Stephen Feger, Director of Asset Management (ACS), Kenneth Ehrlich, Consultant and ACS Project Manager (ACS), Willie Maye Jr, Director of Administration, Division of Child Protection, (ACS), and Ted Salem, Consultant and Portable Technology Pilot Project Manager (OCFS). Without them this assessment of mobile technologies in CPS work could not have taken place.
