EVALUATING OPEN GOVERNMENT: A WORKSHOP CONNECTING RESEARCH AND PRACTICE

The Digital Government Society (DGS) and the Brookings Institution's Center for Technology Innovation are jointly organizing a workshop on open government evaluation. The workshop will bring together leaders from the practice and research communities to engage in a dialogue about best practices, opportunities, and challenges in the evaluation of open government initiatives. As board member of DGS, CTG Director Theresa Pardo is a lead organizer of the event.

WEBINAR | Designing Social Media Policy for Government: Eight Essential Elements
CTG's Jana Hrdinová and H. Giovanni Carnaroli from the US Department of Transportation (USDOT) recently conducted a webinar designed for government professionals interested in learning how to draft a social media policy for their organization. The webinar focused on CTG's report describing the eight essential elements for a government social media policy and how it has been used by USDOT to draft their newly released policy.
The webinar was sponsored by the US General Service Administration's Office of Citizen Services & Innovative Technologies and the Federal Web Managers Council and is available on the HowTo.gov website.
