2010 iGov Research Institute

July 18-25, 2010
The Hague & Delft, The Netherlands

CTG is pleased to announce the 2010 iGov Research Institute will be held in the Netherlands, from July 18-25, 2010. Supported by the US National Science Foundation, the Institute was created for doctoral students from around the world who are interested in the impacts of information and communication technologies on government and governance. The iGov Institute includes both academic sessions and practical field work and is organized around the experiences of a city or region using advanced information policies and technologies for economic, cultural, and social benefits. The faculty team comprises internationally known researchers as well as senior government officials. This year our field venue is The Hague in the Netherlands. Our local university partner and residential location is TU Delft.

Past iGov students have given the program high praise, calling it "the best experience in collaborative interdisciplinary research" connected to practical e-governance challenges. Please identify and encourage qualified doctoral students to apply and share this announcement with your colleagues.

The 2010 iGov application submission deadline is March 15, 2010.

CTG testifies at New York State Assembly Hearing on State IT Governance and Procurement

The New York State Assembly Standing Committee on Governmental Operations held a hearing on November 10th to examine New York's information technology structures regarding purchasing and managing technology products and services. CTG deputy director, Anthony Cresswell, presented testimony based on lessons learned from CTG's recently completed 18 month project in collaboration with the NY State CIO and other government officials to develop recommendations for enhanced enterprise IT governance for NY state government.


CTG Hosting Series of Forums with NYS Agencies on ARRA Reporting

On November 20th, CTG will host the second in a series of forums designed to support the sharing of current and best practices in the use of technology resources to capture, manage, and deliver the data required for ARRA reporting. This forum will include two panels of representatives from a diverse cross section of New York state agencies to share lessons learned while meeting the October 10th ARRA reporting requirements, and issues and challenges related to sub recipient reporting.

Theresa Pardo presents paper on cross-boundary information sharing at ICEG 2009 Conference in Boston

Theresa Pardo was a recent presenter at the 5th International Conference on e-Government (ICEG 2009), held in Boston, MA at Suffolk University. The paper, Clarity of Roles and Responsibilities in Government Cross-Boundary Information Sharing Initiatives: Identifying the Determinants, is based on findings from CTG's National Science Foundation (NSF) funded project, Modeling Information Integration Initiatives. As part of this NSF-funded project, CTG researchers have identified the factors which influence clarity of roles and responsibilities in cross-boundary information sharing initiatives.
