CTG and the National Association of State Chief Information Officers Collaborate on Agenda-Setting Workshop

A group of leading social and information scientists and government practitioners met at the National Science Foundation (NSF) to lay out a research agenda to address grand challenges in information, technology, and governance. The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) co-sponsored the workshop with NSF to launch a new multi-sector conversation about the way technology and social forces shape the workings of government. CTG led the organizing effort of this two-day workshop of over 40 participants from across the country.

Theresa Pardo to Participate in Panel at Summit on Open Government in the Digital Age

Theresa Pardo will speak on a panel, "Citizen Expectations for Access in the Digital Age," moderated by Michael Ridley, director of high performance, NYSTAR. The summit is sponsored by the New York State Chief Information Officer/Office for Technology and the New York State Archives in support of New York State Governor David A. Paterson's commitment to increased transparency and openeness in government. The full-day event is free to all who wish to attend.


Applications for 2010 iGov Research Institute Due March 15th

The iGov Research Institute is a week-long residential program of the Center for Technology in Government. It provides doctoral students from around the world an opportunity to assess the impact of information and communication technologies in the public sector and to understand the value of doing research in an international context. This year's Institute will take place July 18-25, 2010 in The Hague and Delft, Netherlands.

CTG is a co-organizer of 4th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Electronic Governance (ICEGOV2010), which will focus on the use of technology to transform relationships between government and citizens, businesses, civil society and other arms of government (Electronic Governance). The series looks beyond the traditional focus on technology-enabled transformation in government (Electronic Government), towards establishing foundations for good governance and for sustainable national development.

A Preliminary Call for Submissions is due May 24, 2010.
