Reminder to Sign up for "The XML Testbed: Lessons Learned and Future Research"

XML has been characterized as a useful tool for Web site content management. This discussion will highlight preliminary findings of the critical success factors, benefits and challenges in using XML, as found by the five NYS agency teams over the course of Web Site Management Using XML: A Testbed Project . The findings are based on the analysis of the research surveys and semi-structured interviews, which were conducted with the Agency teams as part of the Testbed.

Deadline for HICCS 40 Papers Approaches

The deadline to submit full papers to the Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences (HICSS) is June 15th. HICCS brings together highly qualified, international professionals, and scholars in an interactive environment to address issues in the areas of computer science, computer engineering, and information systems. It is one of the oldest and most influential conferences in the field of system sciences.

Call for Proposals for International Working Groups

CTG has received a $1 million grant from the NSF to create a framework for a sustainable global community of digital government researchers and research sponsors http://www.ctg.albany.edu/projects/dgi . One of the key elements of this project is establishing international working groups as a targeted way to encourage advances in DG research topics that cross national boundaries.

Limited funds are available to support the establishment of 3-5 groups, to be competitively selected through a peer review process. To submit a proposal for an international working group, please download the Working Group Call for Proposals and the Working Group Budget Proposal Spreadsheet.

Deadlines are July 1, 2006 for Optional Expression of Interest; and August 22, 2006 @ 5 p.m. for Full Proposal. Please send all questions to dgi@ctg.albany.edu.

Sharon Dawes Receives Charles Evans Hughes Award from American Society for Public Administration (ASPA)

The Empire State Capital Area Chapter (ESCAC) of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), the nation's most respected society representing all forums in the public service arena, announced the recipients of its two most prestigious awards, which were presented at the annual ASPA Awards Luncheon on Monday, May 22, 2006 at the Empire State Plaza. Sharon Dawes received the Charles Evans Hughes Award, which is presented in recognition of outstanding individual service that has exemplified superior management and administration within New York State over an extended period of time.
