|
This demo shows key functions and features of the New York State-Local Internet Gateway Prototype. It presents a series of scenarios based on actual uses of the Prototype and walks you through screens that provide a simulation of the application. You navigate through this demo in the following ways:
- The menu items above ("Intro," "Gateway," "Contact Repository," "Dog Licensing," and "Parcel Transfer") provide direct links to the main applications of the demo. You can click these at any time to access each of the main applications.
- Each main application ("Gateway," "Contact Repository," "Dog Licensing," and "Parcel Transfer") begins with an introductory page that provides a brief explanation of the application and links to its demonstration scenarios.
- The demonstration scenarios for the applications consist of screen displays that simulate the Prototype. Within each screen, a text box appears that explains the scenario and instructs you to click a button or link within the screen to continue the demo. Navigation within the simulated screens occurs by following the instructions in the text box. For each simulation, you will navigate through three to eight screens. Upon completion of the scenario, a text box appears informing you that the simulation is finished. At this point, you would click the "Next" link at the bottom of the page (below the simulated screen) to continue to the next scenario.
- The "Next" and "Previous" links at the bottom of the pages allow you to navigate in sequence through all pages of the demo from one scenario to the next. However, remember that navigation within a single scenario takes place within the simulated screens as described in the bullet above. The "Next" and "Previous" links at the bottom of the page move you between scenarios, not within them.

Important Technical Note |
The demo scenarios on the following pages use Macromedia Flash which is a common, standard plug-in application with most browsers (such as Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, etc.). Approximately 97% of the browsers in use today have the Flash player installed. However, if you do not have the Macromedia Flash Player, you should download and install the latest version from the Macromedia site. It only takes a few seconds. (You will know that you do not have the Flash Player if you do not see the interactive demo screens displayed within the scenarios.)
|
Because the demo requires a wider page to display the sample screens, the navigation menu (as explained in the bullets above) will be diplayed along the top of the page. You can use this navigation menu to go directly to the different demo applications or you can use the "Previous" and "Next" links at the bottom of the page to proceed through the scenarios in succession. Each section of the demo displays a series of screens from the actual Prototype. Each sample screen contains a text box that briefly explains the screen and allows you to click a link or button on the screen to simulate actual use of the Prototype.
