2009 Institute Slide Show

Location

Each year, the Institute is held in a city or region that is an international leader in some aspect of information age government innovation. The field venue for the 2010 iGov Research Institute is The Hague, along with our university partner, the Delft University of Technology, in the Netherlands. The Hague is the third largest city in the Netherlands and the seat of the Dutch government. In addition, The Hague is the de facto judicial capital of the international community, hosting institutions such as the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Court and other international tribunals.

Delft University of Technology is the academic site for 2010 iGov Institute. TU Delft is the nation's largest technical university, with over 15,000 students and 2,100 scientists. TU Delft was founded in 1842 as the Royal Academy for the education of civil engineers and today ranks amongst the top universities in the world in the field of technology. It is located in the city of Delft traditionally known for its Delft Blue Pottery styled after 17th century Chinese porcelain and associated with the lives of the Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer and the Dutch royal family, the House of Orange. Its many galleries and museums offer a glimpse into the history of the Netherlands as well as a wide range of art collections.
