Personal Background
I am a Physics graduate from Pune University, after which I did my master’s degree M. Sc. in Physics and Electronics. I passed my graduation as well as master’s in first class. My interest for Computers motivated me to do more PG course i.e. Master in Computer Management (MCM), which I did, while doing the lectureship and passed MCM with distinction. Presently, I am pursuing my doctoral research in Computer Management from the North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon under the supervision of Prof. Dr. B. V. Pawar, who is the professor and head of the computer science department of the university.
I started my career as a lecturer in physics from 1/08/1988 at K.C.E. Society’s Moolji Jaitha College, Jalgaon. As of today, total teaching experience is 19 years of which 10 years is of UG Teaching and 9 years is of PG teaching. I have taught subjects like Physics, Electronics and various subjects in Computer Science. In addition to the teaching, I was also responsible for day-to-day administration of the department. Besides this, I was also asked to look after computerization and IT Infrastructure establishment in all colleges of K.C.E. Society. I have been actively involved in the Watershed Surveillance Research Institute of our society right from its inception. My primary job in this institute is to work as IT infrastructure facilitator. While performing these various roles, I have enrolled for doctoral research at the North Maharashtra University in the subject Computer Management under the faculty of Commerce and Management.
I have been member of organizing/program committees of various International/National workshops held at College/University.
Interest in the Field of Digital Government
As stated above, I am pursuing my doctoral research in Computer Management. I am trying to investigate impact of ICT in tourism in our Maharashtra state and world famous Goa state. So far, I have published one paper in a journal and presented six papers at various conferences. My main area of research includes Internet applications like e-tourism and digital governance. My research problem is Application of Information Communication Technology in the promotion of Tourism Industry in the state of Maharashtra and Goa. My thesis deals with planning, development and marketing of tourism enterprises and destination in the emerging electronic market. Here we will be explaining how to transform traditional Indian tourism enterprises, develop and manage new electronic business and how emerging technological tools can be used in tourism business. It will cover issues related with Internet, Extranet, Intranet and e-commerce applications in tourism/hospitality/transportation etc.
