June 17-20, 2013, CTG to Help Organize dg.o 2013 Conference ▼
The 14th Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research (dg.o 2013) will focus on the theme,
From e-Government to Smart Government. Natalie Helbig and Theresa Pardo are Track Chairs, Teresa Harrison and Jana Hrdinova are Panel Chairs, and Sharon Dawes and J. Ramon Garcia are co-chairs of the Doctoral Colloquium. Natalie, Theresa, Teresa, Sharon, and Ramon are also on the Program Committee. The dg.o meetings are an established forum for the presentation, discussion, and demonstration of interdisciplinary digital government research, technology innovation, applications, and practice. This year's conference is hosted by the Faculty of Business Administration at Laval University. Paper submissions are due February 1, 2013.

April 9, 2013, Hrdinova to Guest Lecture at UAlbany Graduate Class Focused on Urban Planning in Developing Countries ▼
Jana Hrdinova will be a guest lecturer for the class,
Planning for Jobs, Housing & Community Services in Third World Cities, taught by Corianne P. Scally, Ph.D. Assistant Professor and Co-Director of UAlbany's Master’s in Urban and Regional Planning Program. Jana's lecture will focus on the issues surrounding government use of technology in developing countries. The Master's program provides education for professional planning practice, to research and publish on planning-related issues, and to apply planning methods to improve the quality of life in communities and regions.

The objective of the
1st Regional Technology and Social Networking Forum is to bring together leading scholars, authorities, practitioners and experts to discuss emerging trends and future opportunities of technology and social networking, and its economic impact on the region. Jana Hrdinova will be speaking on social media policies and guidelines for governments.

March 14-15, 2012, Hrdinova to Conduct Social Media Training for Moldova ▼
Jana Hrdinova will be delivering a two-day training course for government professionals from Moldova on managing social media use in a government context. The training is financed by the U.S. Department of State. After the training, Jana will spend an additional two days at the e-Governance Center of Moldova working with them on social media guidelines.

Brief Bio
Jana Hrdinová is a program associate at CTG. In this position, Jana is responsible for assisting in the development, planning, implementation, management, analysis, and writing associated with various CTG projects.
Jana began working at CTG as a program assistant in January 2006. She came with an extensive expertise in the field of immigration policy and policy analysis, and has built expertise in conducting current practice research, survey design, and project development and administration. In most recent years, she has managed CTG’s
Exploratory Social Media Project, organized its
doctoral research institute, and conducted research in the field of mobile technology and enterprise IT governance.
Jana previously worked for U.S. Senator (Minnesota) Mark Dayton as deputy director for constituent services concentrating predominantly on immigration issues. In addition to assisting constituents with problems regarding federal agencies, Jana conducted outreach to Minnesota’s African-immigrant and African-American communities, and advised Senator Dayton on immigration, worker’s compensation, and postal service policy issues.

Jana graduated summa cum laude in International Relations from the University of Minnesota, and obtained a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.
