CTG is a global leader in advancing research and practice on the interaction of policy, management, and technology use at all levels of government in the US and around the world. We have taken a leading role in building a community of practice for researchers and government practitioners to advance knowledge about information technology innovation in government. A critical part involves actively serving on advisory boards and committees at all levels of government to explore and advise on key issues related to digital government.

The Board of Directors is responsible for establishing the Executive Council and serves as the core of that body. The Board approves the creation of all Work Groups and Projects, and provision of staff support and provides oversight of the financial affairs of The Forum. It also promotes a culture of ethics and compliance with all applicable laws and carries out the provisions of the Certificate of Incorporation, By-Laws and the purposes of the Corporation.

CTG serves in an advisory role to the NYS Local Government IT Directors Association, an organization dedicated to the coordination and improvement of information technology in all types of governments in New York State. NYSLGITDA promotes the interests of those engaged in local government information technology services by providing a forum for the exchange of views and the dissemination of information; advises all government agencies and officials concerning the use of information technology; and rosters collaborative research among members and encouraging education, training and projects in the field of local government information technology.

Data One Socio-Cultures Working Group

DataONE is part of the NSF DataNet initiative, which is designed to provide archival infrastructure for science data. DataNet projects bring together scientists, librarians, information scientists, social scientists, and computer scientists to tackle the difficult issues of data sharing, data management, and digital data preservation. The Socio-Cultures Working Group is focusing on understanding the sociological and cultural issues that inhibit effective data sharing and long-term preservation and on devising and implementing strategies to overcome those barriers.

The AC/GPA uses evaluation criteria, or performance indicators, to evaluate outcomes from NSF’s grant programs in research, education, and research infrastructure. The indicators take into account the support of potentially transformative research, stimulating innovation, developing successful models for teaching and learning, achieving active support of undergraduate and graduate students in research projects, and fostering research at large facilities or with advanced instrumentation that could not have been carried out without NSF support.

The Your Voice Matters: A Dialog on USA.gov was an effort to use citizen input to inform GSA of improvements that can be made in the delivery of government information. The process was being administered by the National Academy of Public Administration through its Collaboration Project. The Digital Preservation Management Workshops, is a series initially developed at Cornell University in 2003 and continued at ICPSR since 2008, which offers practical guidance to organizations for developing effective digital preservation programs. Members of the Advisory Board are working to assist curriculum development and guide the transition of the workshop series from Cornell University, its original home institution, to its new home at ICPSR, University at Michigan.

The Sultan Qaboos Award for Excellence in eGovernment is a program of the Information Technology Authority of Sultanate of Oman. The national competition targets government institutions and is a result of His Majesty's call for the development of a national strategy developing knowledge of citizens and skills in dealing with information technology and a call for all government institutions to accelerate the enhancement of services by digital technology and best practices. The Jury Members are chosen from outside the Sultanate and are accredited by the United Nations to ensure transparency and credibility. The Jury Panel comprises 12 international members from the USA, UK, Syria, Denmark, Sweden, Italy, Egypt, Slovakia, India and Palestine.

The International Journal of Social and Organizational Dynamics provides an international forum for practitioners and researchers from social sciences, along with information systems professional practitioners to contribute and share research regarding the impact and future of IT in the workplace. Covering all aspects of social issues impacted by information technology in organizations and inter-organizational structures, IJSODIT presents the conceptualization of specific social issues and their associated constructs.
